*Walks in and opens the blinds to get some light up in here*
Daaaaang! It's dustier than mug up in here! Where ya'll been?
Oh... That's a question that I need to answer huh? Lol.
Things have been a little hectic on my end. Apparently homes don't move themselves and have the nerve to require packing and what not?!?! *Gives the boxes in the corner the side eye and sucks teeth*
I am trying to get back to a regular posting schedule but it may be a little while before I can make any promises. But luvs ya'll though! Ya'll mah peoples!
But seriously... I do have a gang of reviews and a bunch of NOTDs to post. Besides... You all know that I am never at a loss for words so I have quite a few opinions on some things that are happening in the beauty world.
Here are a few of recent NOTD that I just had to share:
OPI's Green-Wich Village is one of my all time favorite greens. I can shoo away the winters doldrums in no time.I used OPI Call My Cell-ery to give it a little sparkle. CMC is a light green micro glitter from the Brights collection. I know that a lot of folks where disappointed when the glitters turned out to hellaciously sheer but glitters hold a special place in my heart. I just use them for layering.
This is Color Club Magic Attraction from the Glitter Vixen Collection
It is holographic silver glitter bomb! It's LOADED with multisized glitter. I'm not talking glitterery like a hefty glitter topcoat... I'm talking pull out your shades and don't drive a car glitter. Pimpalicious, Antonio Fargas as "Huggy Bear" glitter.

Hey bellas! I hope every one's holiday was super. Did you make through them relatively unscathed? The holidays can be crazy stressful. I make it through them buy humming and surrounding myself with polish fumes! Lol.
Here are few of my recent NOTDs.
This is China Glaze VIII. It's a wonderful dark eggplant creme. Very chic. The lilac glitter is Pure Ice Busted. Don't sleep on Pure Ice ladies! There are quite a few winners in their selection. For a $1.97 @ Walmart they are a wonderful little pick me up. I am wearing China Glaze Spontaneous on my ring finger. The design is from Konad plate M37 using ChG VIII. The colors in the first pic are truer. It's kind of tricky capturing purples in photos.
This is OPI Designer Series Original. Sick, right? This is one of favorite polishes. It's one of the few that I have worn several times. Even Mr. Brown notices when I wear this... Now that's impressive. The entire DS line is holographic. Some more than others. The more recent additions don't give the complete holo rainbow effect. They just have a ton of holo shimmer added. They are still divine.
This is a dark grey chrome franken that I made a little while back. I just added some black polish (Wet N Wild Black Creme 424 is one of the best black cremes in the world! Opaque in one coat and .99 cents!) to a silver chrome polish that I had laying around. I was surprised by how much black I ended up adding. Chrome polishes are heavily pigmented and don't readily take on other colors. There is actually more black than chrome in this one. The the gold shade is Orly Glam. A nice warm orangey gold. Orly doesn't get enough love if you ask me. I love the rubber handles! I wish they would get more exciting colors though. I have to admit... China Glaze has the market locked when it comes to shade selection. Every collection has at least one "I need that in my life" color.

Oh by the way... The winner of Say Yes to Carrots giveaway was Julisa from Trenton NJ. She said that Yes Man is funny and everyone should check it out. I wasn't able to post on Friday because my laptop power cord broke. No juice, no post. I can email from my cell but mobile blogging is for them high fallootin bloggers and I'm just not there yet! lol!

Sally Hanson Needs More People
Ya'll know that I am polish fiend. I have been dying to get my hands on some of the most recent LE collections from Sally Hansen. These beauties have been spotted all over the country but I have yet to see them. I swear Connecticut is where beauty products come to die. Beauty product hell has a zip code and I live smack dab in the middle of it. I decided that I may get somewhere by calling Sally Hansen's customer service. This is the conversation I had:
Me: Hi. I am calling to find out is there are any stores in my neck of the woods that carry the LE collections.
CS: They don't ship until Nov 24.
Me: What? What doesn't ship until Nov 24th? My friends have seen the new Runway collection all over the country for weeks now.
CS: Well I don't know... But my system is telling me the ship date is Nov 24.
Me. Well that may be the date that the *next* collection comes out but I'm looking for an older collection.
CS: Well that's how LE goes ma'am. Once they are sold out, they are gone.
Me: I understand that but I haven't even seen the collection in any of my local stores at all. None of the SA's have seen it either.
CS: That's because it doesn't ship until Nov 24.
At this point I have to look at the phone to make sure that I haven't slipped through some tarderated worm hole and am now talking to a rubber chicken or something.
Me: *deep breath* Is there any way of finding out if the collection will be shipped to any of my local stores?
CS: No. My system doesn't tell me that.

Yes Sally. You are the recipient of the WTF Face! WTF indeed Ms. Hansen. WTF indeed!

Great Minds Think Alike!
Today's post was originally going to be a StS post featuring the wonderful new Zoya polish, Zara. But lil sis Brittany Bee from Clumps of Mascara was all over that. Isn't it a beautimous color? It is everything that I wanted MAC Trax eyeshadow to be. Trax looks very very similar in the pan but the gold shimmer isn't as pronounced once it hits the lid. BOOO! I was so stuck on the gorgeousness of Zara that I decided to do a FOTD in it's honor. I apologize in advance for the lack of the breakdown. It all just kind of came together as I was getting ready for a parent-teacher conference for Boy Brown. The pics are also a few hours old so meh...
This is my Zara mani. And this is what I changed it to. lol!
Excuse the mess. These pics are pre clean up. It's a little something that I frankend up. It's pretty funky. A little darker than I wanted it to be but I think it turned out nice. A blurple with holo shimmer and multisized glitter... Not something that you come across everyday!

And the Winner Is......
Submitted by Lesley.
I know that I was supposed to post this on Friday but Friday was one heck of a day. Momma Brown and Step Brown came into town so Mr. Brown and I could celebrate our anniversary (also Friday) like civilized married folk... without the chilluns. Boy Brown also had to get his trick-or-treat on. I offered him $5 and 2 big ole bags of candy from Walmart but he wasn't having it. lol!
This was my anniversary/Halloween mani. Mr.Brown has a thing for orange nails so this was right up his alley.
The orange is Sinful Colors Summer Peach. The black is OPI My Private Jet over Wet N Wild Black creme.
This is today's NOTD.
Finger Paints Red Marzipan is a part if the current LE holiday Nutcracker collection available now at Sally's. I wish could capture the bold amber and gold flash that this polish gives off. You can see it pretty well in the bottle. I couldn't photograph it to my life though. It's said to be similar to the wildly sought after OPI La Boheme. I am really loving this color. This will definitely get a replay somewhere in the near future.
Thank you everyone for all of your entries. I was truly flabbergasted by the amount of entries that I received. Stay tuned for another giveaway shortly. I have some pretty neat things in store.

My First Contest!
I am starting a new weekly series on nails and I am having some serious brain cramps trying to come up with a name. I figured this would be the perfect time to have my first contest. The rules are simple. Submit a name for the series and if it's chosen, you win! So I guess you want to know what the prize is huh? Lol. The prize is a nail care essentials grab bag. It will include all of things that have become indispensable in my nail care routine.
Poshe Super-Fast Drying Topcoat
Nailtek II
Sally Hansen Instant Cuticle Remover
orangewood sticks
felt squares for polish removal
a glass nail file
cuticle oil
a bottle of Biotin
nail brush
some new bottles of polishes
So... What do you think? Not bad for my first contest I think. You can submit entries by leaving them in the comment field of this post or sending me email using the link at the top of the right column. Make sure the subject line has something regarding the contest in the subject line. Also... F.Y.I. this will be a weekly series that runs on Mondays or Tuesdays (I haven't decided yet). The winner will be annouced Friday, October 31. This day also happens to be my anniversary so now there's one more reason to celebrate!
Here is today's NOTD for a little bit of inspiration!
What's better than a jelly polish? Jelly with holographic bling that's what! The polish is Shu Uemura PA924. Yummy indeed!
Application was a bit tricky. This seems to be kind of par for the course when it comes to jelly polish though. All of the pics are 3 coats of PA924. The ring finger has a coat of Out of the Door's Northern Lights silver hologram topcoat. I wanted to see how much of a difference it made. I love the effect. This topcoat will indeed be in heavy rotation.
So put on your thinking caps and win yourself some goodies!

I May Not Know Jacques, But I know Dirty Mop Water When I See It
Here is a picture of OPI You Don't Know Jacques nail polish on my NC50 skin. This is a shade form the current French collection that can be found online and in most retailers.
This is a good lesson that a nice color in the bottle doesn't always translate to a nice nail color. It shows just how much skintone can change th look of a color. This polish is waaaaaaay more flattering on Kia of Yummy411.
Poopy color withstanding... YDKJ was a dream to apply... Like most OPI shades are. I blame Out of the Door topcoat for smudged pinky and ring fingers. I should have acted like I knew and stuck with Poshe.
So what's on your tips right now? How are you feeling about YDKJ?
